Alexa Gavrilov, LCSW

Alexa is a licensed, compassionate, and motivated therapist with comprehensive knowledge of how mental health affects overall quality of life. She is dedicated to building trust and rapport with her clients through a strengths-based approach, reflective listening, and empathic interpersonal skills. Alexa has specialized training in eating disorders, equipping her with the skills to work professionally with individuals experiencing disordered eating and diagnosed eating disorders. Her approach is rooted in the Health at Every Size (HAES) perspective, allowing her to offer inclusive, weight-neutral support that helps clients heal their relationship with food and their bodies. In addition to her expertise in eating disorders, Alexa is actively working toward her certification in perinatal mental health (PMH-C) and specializes in supporting women through the unique challenges of pregnancy, postpartum, and motherhood. She recognizes the strong connection between eating disorders and perinatal mood disorders, understanding that pregnancy and postpartum can be particularly vulnerable times for individuals with a history of disordered eating or body image concerns. By addressing these co-occurring challenges, she provides holistic and individualized care that empowers mothers to navigate these transitions with confidence and self-compassion. Alexa also has experience working with depression, anxiety, body image concerns, and self-esteem. She is passionate about helping both new and experienced mothers manage the emotional and psychological demands of motherhood while fostering a sense of self-worth and autonomy. With a compassionate and client-centered approach, Alexa prioritizes normalizing daily struggles, building self-awareness, and fostering unconditional positive self-regard, helping her clients develop a deeper understanding of themselves and their needs.
