"If you want to fly, you have to give up what weighs you down." -  Roy T. Bennett

At each stage of life, we encounter challenges that if resolved, contribute to our growth. If left unresolved, those challenges become too heavy to move past. Counseling is an opportunity to understand how those unresolved challenges affect you and to learn the skills that will allow you to “fly”.

As a licensed professional counselor, I feel that empathy, trust and mutual respect are the foundation of a successful counseling relationship. I utilize elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution Focused Therapy to help clients embrace the positive aspects of their lives as they overcome adversity. With more than 14 years of experience with the New Jersey Children’s System of Care, I have worked with children and their caregivers as a care manager, mobile response worker and intensive in-community counselor. I have also worked in an outpatient counseling setting for several years with both children and adults. Over the years I have found that although our reasons for seeking counseling may be vastly different, ultimately, we are all looking to overcome our past, appreciate our present and look forward to our future.
