Welcome! My name is April, and I am honored that you are considering me as your therapist. I would be excited to assist you as you embark upon your journey toward meeting your personal, relationship and family goals.
My passion is to work with people who find themselves under extreme duress and need assistance in finding their inner strength. During times of stress, it is difficult for us to feel confident in ourselves. When life throws multiple challenges our way; it is difficult for us to navigate through the obstacles and know that we will come out of the other side okay. However, you can be more than okay--you can thrive!
My clients say that I am a kind, caring, compassionate and empathetic person. It’s my belief that only you are the expert on yourself and that no one knows better how to achieve your personal goals than you.
During our therapy sessions, you will have a nonjudgmental, neutral, safe, and supportive space to sort through the obstacles that you are facing. We will discuss your challenges, explore your strengths and weaknesses, and construct a plan for you to meet your personal goals. I’m excited to assist you as you heal, grow, and tap into your inner strength. When you feel empowered, anything is possible.
I am a Licensed Social Worker and Certified Learning Disabilities Consultant, and have Master’s degrees in clinical social work and special education. My experience is in working with children of all ages and their families. Additionally, I have worked alongside parents who have had to navigate the special education system.
I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Emotion Focused Therapy.
